\osition = the amount of lean body mass compared to the amount of body fat.
What are 3 examples of "lean body mass"?
1. Bone
2. Muscle
3. Organs
4. Body Fluids
What are 3 of the benefits of fat in your body?
1. Acts as an insulator, helping the body adapt to heat and cold
2. Acts as a shock absorber, helping to protect internal organs and bones from injury.
3. Helps the body use vitamins effectively
4. Acts as storage energy when the body needs energy
5. Maintains healthy skin and hair
6. Regulates levels of cholesterol in the blood.
How do you think a person's body composition is tested?
~ Body Composition is measured by calculating a person’s Body Mass Index (or BMI). Elementary students’ body composition is constantly changing due to rapid growth spurts, so children have a different BMI calculation table than adults. Calculating your BMI is generally something your doctor will do at a wellness check that you might not even be aware of to make sure that your body is healthy.
Correct your answers from the previous wiki assignment. It might be easiest to just delete what you had already put, and copy and paste the entire section listed below. Remember, this will be used as a study guide for your end of the year Fitness Component test.
Experiment:
Move your arms in large circles going forward
Now move them going backwards.
Your shoulder joint is called a BALL JOINT. All ball joints should have the same range of motion ability.
Answer the following questions:
Name another ball joint in your body. Another ball joint in your body is your wrists.
Can you move it through its full range of motion similar to your shoulder joint? You can't move your wrists in it's full range of motion.
In full sentences explain WHY it can or cannot move the same way. You can't move your wrists the same way as your shoulder because you have tendens and bones that restrict motion. Also you can move your shoulder all the way around in a circle.
Answer the questions below in FULL SENTENCES:
What is the definition of FLEXIBILITY? Flexibility is what you do to bend yourself or stretch, so your flexibility is your streching ability.
Why is flexibility or stretching important? What are the benefits of doing these types of exercises?
If you don't strech before an activity you could hurt yourself. The benefit of streching is your muscels won't feel tight and you will feel ready to play.
Please list 3 examples of physical activities that use flexibility:
What is a serving size? The amount of food in each serving.
What are the 2 types of fat that increase your risk for heart disease? Trans Fat and Saturated fats are the 2 types of fat that increase your risk of heart disease.

What are the 2 types of carbohydrates?Sugar and dietary fiber are the 2 types of carbohydrates.
What is considered high/low % Daily Value? 5% is considered low % Daily value and 20% is considered high % Daily value.
Now PLAY THE GAME to see how well you can read the nutrition labels?

AEROBIC FITNESS Good Aerobic fitness activities are Basketball, soccer,Biking, baseball, and running . Aerobic fitness that helps a little is walking, playing catch with a baseball, and jogging.
Aerobic fitness activities help keep you healthy. I learned about the heart and circulatory system and how the heart circulates blood through out the body. I learned about the four chambers of the heart and the four valves that open & close making the beating sound. I also learned about the lungs and respiratory system. They also had a hot tub!!! The house
inside was nice, it had 3 beds and a loft. It had a lot of yard space, it was helpful because
we got to play a baseball game. We went golfing the 2nd day we were there. We went
to a LaCrosse golf course. I did really well. Then we went fishing, there was a lot of
fish where we went. We caught several different kinds of fish like Perch, Sunfish,
Bass, Bluegill, and a 14 inch fat Sheepshead. Back in the barn there were treats for
the sheep, goats, and the horse, also lots of hay for the horse. The horse liked to
stay in the barn while the other animals are roaming around in the pasture. Every
day we cut up some apples for Truly to eat, she really liked the apples a lot. Also
in the yard we played bean bag toss, it was a lot of fun. We played with the cats a
lot. They were really playful. We went in the hot tub a couple of times too, that was
fun. My favorite part was the hammock, my brother and I flipped each other off of
the hammock. We had a SPECTACULAR time there!!! I had a fun time and I hope to
go back next summer.
